What Does a Children’s Entertainer Do?

What is an entertainer? 

It’s all in the name! At DNA Kids, all of our entertainers are there to make sure everybody’s having as much fun as they can. 

In fact, all of our children’s entertainers undergo rigorous screening and training to make sure they’re as prepared as possible to make your child’s birthday or party one to remember. It might sound a little serious, but all of this hard work means the difference between the best party ever, and just another standard get-together. 

To make sure our entertainers are ready to bring the fun, we look for some personal qualities that are a surefire sign of a passion for partying: 

• Personality. Whether they’re hosting a wacky science party complete with experiments and games, or a teddy bears picnic for younger groups, all of our entertainers bring a bit of themselves into the day’s festivities. 

• Patience. Being able to keep the party moving when you’ve got lots of little personalities running around is vital. Our entertainers keep to a structure, but allow wiggle room if certain games need to be longer or shorter throughout the day. 

• Passion. We love what we do, and it’s important that our entertainers feel the same! Hosting a two-hour party can take a lot out of you, so being able to keep energy levels high will make all the difference. 

What does an entertainer do? 

Since DNA Kids first launched in 1991, we’ve brought the fun to parties up and down the UK. But what does that actually look like? 

At the core of all of our parties is a tried-and-tested formula that keeps the party going and involves all of your guests in the fun. This includes a themed party game, followed by a session of disco dancing, and a break for food and drink. 

But boiling things down to this level completely ignores what makes DNA Kids children’s entertainers special. Across 21 award-winning party packages, our entertainers use their skills and imagination to take your guests to an adventurous jungle, wintery wonderland, or tropical beach. Add your own decorations and theming to your venue, and you’ll accentuate the feeling of being transported even further!

With themed games and prizes, kids are fully immersed in the excitement of the party; creating special memories with their friends and family that will stay with them for a long, long time.

What does an entertainer not do? 

Knowing what an entertainer does is really key when planning your kids party, but equally as important is knowing what you need to plan and organise yourself to make it a really special day. 

While all of our DNA Kids children’s entertainers are specially trained to bring the fun, there’s a handful of things they need your help with to keep everything running smoothly: 

• Cleaning up. Your children’s entertainer will set up and pack down their own equipment, such as lights, speakers, and games. However, it’s your job to clean up any messes from things like food and drink. 
• Babysitting. Our children’s entertainers are here to make your party as fun as it can be, but in order to deliver, they need to fully focus on the fun and games taking place. One or two parents need to stick around, so that they can do their job to the fullest. 
• Decorating the venue. Wouldn’t a mermaids and pirates party be even more fun if it looked like everyone was aboard a pirate ship? Your children’s entertainer brings the games and equipment to keep everybody moving and playing, but it’s your job to visually transform your chosen venue into a colourful party space.
